First Appointment

What’s the point of the first appointment?

The first appointment allows the client to explain his needs and the lawyer to present his services that will meet the client’s needs, as well as their costs.

It is very important to reveal all information to the lawyer, even information that you think is trivial, whether positive or negative. The lawyer will determine whether or not it is relevant. As a reminder, the lawyer is a legal professional subject to professional secrecy.

It is at this point that the essential relationship of trust is established between client and lawyer.

What should I bring to the first appointment?

The lawyer will ask you an identity document.

In addition, it is important to gather all the documents relating to the case and bring them with you to the appointment.

The documents useful to the lawyer will vary depending on the case and the area of law.

Where does the appointment take place?

Interviews are by appointment only and can take place :

> in the client’s premises
> in the office
> remotely by videoconference

How is held the first appointment and the handling of a case?

The first appointment usually lasts between half an hour and an hour.

After the presentation of your needs and the presentation of the services that can meet your needs, the lawyer will tell you the costs to be expected.

If all these elements suit you, they will be included in an engagement and remuneration contract that the lawyer will draw up.

The lawyer begins his mission after the contract has been signed (by you and himself) and payment of the amount indicated.
